Alastair Da Costa was appointed Managing Director - Asia Pacific of DLA Piper in May 2011 and is based in Hong Kong. He leads a team of over 700 lawyers based in 5 countries across Australia, China, Japan, Singapore and Thailand, and is responsible for achieving DLA Piper's vision to be a leading business law firm in the region.

Alastair joined DLA Piper in 1992 and has been an elected member of DLA Piper's Global Board since 2005. Prior to relocating to Asia from the UK, Alastair held a number of senior positions including Head of Corporate Group - UK, Head of Corporate Group - EMEA and Head of Financial Services - EMEA.   
 
Alastair sits on the International Committee of Leeds Financial Services Initiative Limited (where he was previously Chairman), a partnership body with over 100 corporate members that represents and lobbies for the financial services sector in Leeds. He was an advisory board member of Leeds University Business School and a Director of Marketing Leeds Limited (where he was previously Deputy Chairman), a company responsible for promoting the brand and image of the UK city.
 
Qualified in England & Wales, Alastair is a corporate lawyer whose practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance transactions and restructurings for private and public companies.
