Andrew P. Gilbert is a partner in DLA Piper's Corporate and Securities practice, based in our Florham Park, New Jersey office.

Mr. Gilbert focuses his practice on corporate finance transactions, mergers and acquisitions and securities law matters. He represents public and private companies primarily in the technology, life sciences and healthcare industries as well as investment firms that serve these sectors.

He brings to clients his extensive background representing issuers, underwriters and venture capital firms regarding both public and private offerings. Mr. Gilbert is highly experienced in securities law compliance and corporate governance matters. Mr. Gilbert's transactional experience includes IPOs, PIPEs, registered direct offerings and direct follow-on offerings, as well as venture capital, private equity, M&A and other strategic transactions. He also has counseled numerous entrepreneurs and emerging growth companies in planning profitable liquidity strategies. Mr. Gilbert regularly serves as outside general counsel for private and public companies at various stages of development. Mr. Gilbert is a member of the firm's National Leadership Group of the US Emerging Growth and Venture Capital practice.

Prior to joining DLA Piper, Mr. Gilbert was a partner at another international law firm. Before attending law school, he served as an intern with the NASDAQ trading and corporate bond departments at Shearson Lehman Brothers Inc. and worked as an underwriter for American International Group (AIG). At AIG, Mr. Gilbert underwrote professional liability and directors' and officers' legal liability insurance policies for several financial services companies.
