Press Release

(BOSTON) - DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary US LLP announced that Michael Barron has joined the firm's Corporate and Securities practice group as a partner in the Boston office. He joins DLA Piper from Nixon Peabody LLP where he was one of the leaders of the firm's life sciences initiative.

Barron focuses his practice on representing early-stage biotechnology, medical device, healthcare and technology companies and investors in such companies.  He counsels clients in corporate transactional and intellectual property matters. He has particular experience working with clients on early stage financings, licensing and trademark issues.

"Michael is widely respected in the legal and biotech communities and has extensive experience representing emerging growth companies with a particular emphasis on life sciences," said Elliot Surkin, managing partner of DLA Piper's Boston office. "His skills complement the firm's national life sciences practice, which stretches from Boston and Atlanta across to California and Seattle."

DLA Piper's Life Sciences practice includes more than 100 attorneys in the U.S. The firm has offices in 22 cities in the U.S., including all of the top life sciences markets in the country.
