Bart Koolhaas is a partner in the real estate, administrative and environmental law practice of DLA Piper in the Netherlands. Bart has extensive experience in doing work for both the public and private sector, which means that he understands the needs of both sides and can effectively work with both parties’ interest at hand. Bart’s experience consists of advising corporations, as well as government authorities, on all aspects of public law and is also involved in interpreting (European) administrative legislation.

Bart has a specific focus on administrative law with a particular emphasis on regulatory matters, including subsidies, preventive health and safety issues, physical planning as well as European legislation.

Bart is a member of the Dutch society of Administrative law Lawyers and the Dutch Society of Environmental Lawyers, and has been identified as a recommended environmental lawyer in The Netherlands in the 2006/2007 edition of the PLC cross border handbook on environment and is noted as a key player in the market by Legal 500 (2008).

Bart is a frequent speaker at seminars and regularly publishes articles on various administrative and environmental law topics in national an international legal magazines.
