Christopher Terry is a partner based in DLA Piper's Beijing office. Chris' principal areas of practice include advising institutional and corporate investors in connection with structuring venture capital and private equity investments and representing acquirers and targets in connection with cross-border mergers and acquisitions and foreign investments in China. Chris has also represented several state-owned enterprises in connection with overseas investments in South America, Southeast Asia and Africa.

Chris also has substantial experience advising issuers and investors in connection with implementing corporate restructurings and reorganizations, resolving management/shareholder disputes, disposing of under-performing assets, effecting dilutive issuances and overseeing corporate liquidations.

• Advising Sequoia Capital in connection with its investment in the convertible bond financing of Shaanxi Bicon, a Chinese pharmaceutical company that manufactures and distributes TCM and chemical medicines, focusing on branded, generic, and over the counter products
• Representing Cisco Systems in connection with its acquisition of the digital set top box business of DVN Holdings Limited in China
• Representing a leading financial and insurance services firm in connection with the disposition of its investment in a leading provider of private commercial aviation pilot training and aviation consulting the PRC
• Representing a public utility in connection with its reorganization and proposed spin-off of gas transmission and generation assets
• Representing a leading international power company in connection with the disposition of its joint venture interest in China
• Representing the lead investors in connection with their investment in Ether Precision Inc., a Shanghai-based designer and manufacturer of miniature optical lenses for digital camera and cell phone OEMs
• Advising a leading German multi-national conglomerate in connection with its investment in China Diagnostics Medical Corporation
• Representing a syndicate of China state owned enterprises in connection with their acquisition of an interest in oil and gas assets in Ecuador
