Megan Muir’s practice focuses on representing emerging technology companies and venture capital firms with their corporate finance, securities and general corporate law needs. She brings a range of legal and business experience to bear for her clients based on her former position as in house counsel and as an attorney in private practice. Before joining DLA Piper, Ms. Muir was the General Counsel and Senior Vice President of Corporate Development for RadioFrame Networks, a Redmond-based designer and producer of wireless communications equipment. In her role at RadioFrame, she handled such matters as equity financings, corporate partnerships and other securities law matters, as well as negotiating contracts, distribution agreements and intellectual property licensing transactions.
Before working at RadioFrame Networks, Ms. Muir was in private practice with two law firms, where she concentrated on representing technology and startup companies and the venture capital community that invests in these companies. She gained significant experience in private equity financings, corporate partnering deals, initial public offerings, mergers and acquisitions and intellectual property counseling.
After completing law school, Ms. Muir clerked for Chief United States District Court Judge Barbara Jacobs Rothstein, working on matters relating to intellectual property litigation, general commercial litigation and various constitutional law challenges.
Ms. Muir has been named a "Rising Star" in Washington Law & Politics magazine.
