|
David Nachman represents leading corporations and financial institutions, as well as senior executives and corporate directors, in complex regulatory, enforcement, securities law and corporate governance and compliance matters, as well as internal and government investigations.
In addition, Mr. Nachman, who is fluent in Spanish, is engaged by clients who face civil or criminal challenges in a legal culture other than that of their native jurisdiction, and in transnational litigation of many varieties.
Career Advancement Center
Mr. Nachman is Chair of DLA Piper's Career Advancement Center. The Center coordinates DLA Piper's efforts in the areas of professional development, attorney evaluations, recruiting and diversity.
Pro Bono and Community Activity
Mr. Nachman, who serves on DLA Piper's Pro Bono Committee, has been active in international human rights and other pro bono work throughout his career. On behalf of Human Rights Watch and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, he has conducted human rights missions to Chile, Romania, Turkey, Cuba, Panama, South Africa, and Venezuela, testified before Congress, and appeared on national television. Currently, Mr. Nachman supervises DLA Piper’s New Perimeters project, in conjunction with Appleseed, on the screening and repatriation of unaccompanied alien minors along the US-Mexico border. In 2005 and 2006, Mr. Nachman supervised another New Perimeters project in support of the Southern Africa Litigation Center, which promotes the capabilities of the bar in nine southern African countries to engage in human rights and constitutional litigation.
Mr. Nachman participates actively in the life of his local community. In 2006 and 2007, he served as president of the board of trustees of the Park Slope Jewish Center, and from 2004 to 2006 as a member of Community Board 6 in Brooklyn, New York. He is a member of the board of directors of St. Ann's Warehouse, a cutting-edge theatrical and cultural institution in Brooklyn.
He has been named a New York Super Lawyer.
