Carlos Rivas is a member of the Corporate and Securities Group and focuses his practice on the representation of US. and foreign public and private companies in connection with corporate and securities matters, including public and private offerings, mergers and acquisitions and other general corporate matters. In addition, Mr. Rivas assists clients in the preparation and filing of 1933 Act and 1934 Act documents with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission and related compliance.

Prior to joining DLA Piper, Mr. Rivas worked as an associate in another international firm where he focused his practice in capital market transactions in Latin America. In addition, Mr. Rivas also worked as an associate in the corporate department of a Venezuelan law firm for three years. His experience there was mainly advising and representing major domestic and international companies in the preparation and negotiation of manufacturing and distribution agreements, joint ventures and other corporate matters.
