DLA Piper’s Stephen Nolan honored by the Lawyers Clearinghouse
Press Release
(Boston) – DLA Piper today announced that Stephen Nolan, a partner in the firm’s Boston Real Estate practice group, has been honored by the Lawyers Clearinghouse on Affordable Housing and Homelessness for his contributions and years of leadership. He was recently recognized during the organization’s 20th anniversary celebration.
Nolan has been a member of the Lawyers Clearinghouse for 16 years and served as its president for five of those years. He has been instrumental in facilitating free legal services to individuals and nonprofit organizations, while helping to guide and strengthen the agency. He has also played a leading role in addressing the critical shortage of affordable housing in Massachusetts.
At DLA Piper, Nolan concentrates his practice on real estate development, affordable housing and finance. He has broad experience in both commercial and housing development, including permitting and deal structure.
“We are very excited that Steve has been recognized by the Lawyers Clearinghouse for his outstanding work throughout the pro bono community here in Massachusetts,” said Elliot Surkin, managing partner of the Boston office. “We congratulate him on this well-deserved honor.”
The Lawyers Clearinghouse on Affordable Housing and Homelessness is a nonprofit organization that was founded in 1988 by the Boston Bar Association and Massachusetts Bar Association. It has served as a model used by bar sponsored pro bono groups throughout the country in establishing similar programs, including the District of Columbia, Rhode Island and Maryland.
