Deborah E. McCrimmon concentrates her practice on complex litigation, business disputes, internal investigations, corporate governance and consumer class actions in state and federal court. She has represented biotech companies in litigation arising from merger and acquisition transactions and has participated in internal investigations, including those involving stock option practices, breach of fiduciary duty, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and whistleblower claims. She has advised both large and small companies on business disputes and corporate governance issues that have arisen during the course of business. Ms. McCrimmon has additional experience in commercial litigation, including significant insurance litigation experience.
In 2006, Ms. McCrimmon won the State Bar of California's 2006 President's Pro Bono Service Award in recognition of her role in the prosecution and conviction of a member of the Argentine military on charges of crimes against humanity committed during the Argentine dictatorship. She was the only American lawyer on a prosecution team from the NGO Equipo Nizkor working on the case in Spain. The precedent-setting case marked the first time in world history in which a domestic court successfully applied principles of international criminal jurisdiction and crimes against humanity.
In addition to conducting her private practice, Ms. McCrimmon continues to provide pro bono assistance to nonprofits and individuals in California.
