Diederik de Groot is primarily engaged in the organisation's international practice and is a member of DLA Piper's Telecoms team in the Netherlands.
Over the years his practice has shifted from a general commercial and corporate practice to international litigation and arbitration. Diederik de Groot has extensive experience in both of these fields on an international and domestic level. He has handled complex litigations in a wide range of areas, including commercial transactions (international sales, distribution and agency), corporate matters and intellectual property. Many disputes include issues of private international law and competition law. Much of this work involves multi-jurisdictional proceedings and working in international and multi-disciplinary teams.
Diederik de Groot has handled various types of arbitrations including NAI (Netherlands Arbitration Institute), FME (Arbitration Board for the metal and electro technical industry), RABB (Arbitration Board for construction and engineering), AIBK, ad hoc, ICC, Danish Arbitration Institute and arbitration-related court proceedings.
He is on the roster of arbitrators of AAA/ICDR (American Arbitration Association/International Centre for Dispute Resolution) and sits as an ICC arbitrator.
