Do you understand Energy Performance Certificates (“EPCs”) and Display Energy Certificates (“DECs”)?

EPCs and DECs are two different types of certificates that are required in different circumstances. If you are involved in the construction, sale or letting of buildings in England or Scotland, you will need to know about EPC’s. DECs are required in England only, by institutions and authorities that provide services to the public and in relation to premises that exceed a de minimis threshold.
