Mac Bernstein focuses his practice on developing and directing government affairs strategies in complex policy matters, often incorporating lobbying, political, grassroots and public relations efforts and organizing industry coalitions at the federal and state level.

He regularly represents foreign government, corporate and nonprofit clients before Congress, the executive branch and state governments, and works closely with DLA Piper's international attorneys and government affairs professionals on international public policy matters.

Mac has broad experience on foreign policy issues and works regularly with the members and staff of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, House International Relations Committee and other congressional committees with jurisdiction over international affairs, intelligence and national security matters. He also works regularly with the congressional leadership on complex policy matters. Other matters on which he has experience include foreign investment and trade, judiciary matters, banking and financial services, housing, alternative energy, tax, transportation, defense, homeland security and environmental matters.

He is active in Democratic Party politics.
