David Sickle concentrates his practice in transactional real estate and finance. Mr. Sickle represents a wide variety of REIT’s, banks, and developer and institutional clients and has particular experience in shopping center financing, acquisition, development, leasing, and dispositions. Mr. Sickle has recently written and published on the topic of loan workouts and deeds in lieu of foreclosure.
In the area of real estate finance, Mr. Sickle represents both borrowers and lenders in the origination of securitized debt and other structured finance transactions, including single-asset and multi-state/multi-property mortgage loans, mezzanine loan transactions, and secured and unsecured lines of credit. In recent years, he has developed a significant practice representing private equity sources, as well as developers and other entrepreneurial clients, in the placement of equity and structuring joint ventures.
Mr. Sickle also has an active practice in the area of retail leasing, representing both landlords and specialty tenants in shopping center transactions. His retail leasing experience is particularly focused on motion picture theaters and other entertainment uses, and his clients include both major movie theater circuits and nationally recognized shopping center developers.
The respected English publisher Chambers & Partners cites him in Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business, calling him "dynamic and impressive."
