Dewey Becomes the 13th Lawyer from DLA Piper Inducted Into ACTL
Comunicado de prensa
(BALTIMORE) - DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary US LLP has announced that Joel A. Dewey, a partner in the firm's Litigation practice, has been inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers (ACTL). Dewey is the 13th partner from the firm inducted into the organization. He is based in the firm's Baltimore office.
Founded in 1950, the ACTL is composed of the best of the trial bar from the U.S. and Canada. Fellowship in the College is extended, by invitation only and only after careful investigation, to experienced trial lawyers who have mastered the art of advocacy and whose professional careers have been marked by the highest standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, civility and collegiality. Lawyers must have a minimum of 15 years of trial experience before they can be considered for Fellowship.
"Joel's election into the ACTL is an important career achievement for him and another important milestone for our litigation practice" said Robert J. Mathias, joint global leader and U.S. chair of DLA Piper's Litigation practice. "Joel is most deserving of this recognition and we are pleased that he has been rewarded for his 25 years of trial experience and his accomplishments as a respected professional in the legal community."
Dewey has appeared as lead trial counsel in major jury trials in state and federal courts across the country. He has represented clients in appeals before federal and state appellate courts. He also has appeared as lead counsel for manufacturers in national class action disputes. In addition to litigation, Dewey advises technology companies and product manufacturers on risk management, analysis and prevention.
Dewey has lectured and written articles on litigation and technology-related issues for clients, industry groups, the ABA, and state and local bar associations. He is certified as a mediator by the Harvard School Program of Instruction for Lawyers. He also has served as a mediator for the Baltimore City Mediation Program.
