Former Members of Congress honor Senator Mitchell

"The U.S. Association of Former Members of Congress is pleased to announce that former Majority Leader George Mitchell is the organization’s 2008 Distinguished Service Award recipient. The award was presented during a ceremony in the Chamber of the House of Representative in Washington, DC on Thursday, April 17, 2008. The Distinguished Service Award recognizes outstanding public service by a current or former Member of Congress. Via this award the U.S. Association of Former Members of congress wishes to highlight exemplary service to the country and to the global better good."
