Press Release

DLA Piper announced today that Diane Frankle has been named one of “Silicon Valley’s Women of Influence” by the Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal, and will be honored at a reception on April 8 at The Fairmont Hotel in San Jose. Frankle is chair of DLA Piper’s Public Company and Corporate Governance practice.

The award recognizes and celebrates the accomplishments of 100 Silicon Valley women who are leaders in either the private, public or not-for-profit sectors, and who give back to their communities as board members, volunteers and as role models. Frankle was nominated by her peers and selected by a distinguished group of judges, including Martha Marsh, CEO of Stanford Hospital & Clinics and a 2008 honoree; Jane Williams, CEO of Sand Hill Advisors LLC and a 2009 honoree; and Telle Whitney, CEO of the Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology and a 2009 honoree.

“We are delighted that Diane has been recognized for her long-term commitment to the Silicon Valley business community as well as her exemplary client service work,” said Andrew Valentine, managing partner of DLA Piper’s Silicon Valley office. “Her experience and skills have helped the region achieve higher success, and we congratulate her on this tremendous honor.”

Frankle concentrates her practice on mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, disclosure, anti-takeover counseling, internal investigations, public offerings, venture capital financing, new company formation and executive compensation. Among her clients are publicly traded and privately held companies engaged in US and cross-border mergers, acquisitions and leveraged buyouts. Frankle served as chair of DLA Piper's Mergers and Acquisitions practice for five years prior to her appointment as chair of the Public Company and Corporate Governance practice.

Frankle is a member of the ABA's M&A Committee and the Committee on Corporate Laws, and chairs the ABA's Task Force on Public Company Acquisitions. She served on the State Bar of California Business Law Section Corporations Committee from 1992-1996 and was co-chair from 1995-1996. She was also the editor in chief of the State Bar's Guide to California Securities Law Practice.

Frankle is listed in Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business; Legal 500; The Best Lawyers in America; Who's Who Legal: The International Who's Who of Business Lawyers; Chambers Global Guide; PLC Which Lawyer? Yearbook 2009; San Francisco magazine as a Northern California Super Lawyer; and the San Francisco Business Times as one of the best lawyers in the San Francisco Bay area.

In 2009, Frankle was the recipient of the Association of Corporate Growth (ACG) Outstanding Membership Award, presented at the ACG Silicon Valley Grow Awards, an annual event honoring the highest growth companies in Silicon Valley.
