DLA Piper announces partnership promotions for 2009

DLA Piper is delighted to announce that 53 lawyers worldwide have been promoted to its partnership for 2009. In addition to the new partners, 21 lawyers at DLA Piper have been promoted to legal director and 74 to its associateship. The promotions, effective from 1 January 2009, were made across all key practice areas throughout DLA Piper's 67 offices globally. The Corporate group saw the largest intake of new partners, with 17 promotions. Litigation and Regulatory saw 2 promotions, followed by Finance (8), Real Estate (6), Intellectual Property and Technology (5), Restructuring (4) and Employment, Pensions and Benefits (1). By region 16 partners were promoted in the UK, 13 in the US, 17 across Continental Europe and a further six in Asia. Within Europe, four promotions were in Belgium, three in the Netherlands and our offices in Austria, Germany and Hungary grew by two new partners each. In the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates saw one new partner promotion. A full list of partner promotions by office and practice is included below.
