DLA Piper awarded Real Estate Law Firm Of The Year and Best Partner Of A Law Firm in Ukraine

DLA Piper is pleased to announce that it has been named "Real Estate Law Firm of the Year" at the National Legal Awards 2009 organised by Yuridicheskaya Practika, the leading Ukraine law journal. The award reflects the strong performance of the team under the leadership of Real Estate practice head in Kyiv, Natalia Kochergina. In addition, the Managing Partner of DLA Piper's Kyiv office, Margarita Karpenko, was named "Best Partner of a Law Firm".
DLA Piper received the strongly contested awards ahead of others having impressed the independent panel of legal experts.
The panel of nine judges included representatives from the Ukrainian Ministry of Justice, the Ukrainian Council for National Security and Defence, Ukraine's Supreme Court, professors of well-known Ukrainian universities' legal departments, as well as practising lawyers both in-house, and in private practice.
The awards, which are now in their third year, were held on 5 June 2009 at the Hyatt Hotel in Kyiv.
