Brogan named managing partner of DLA Piper's Philadelphia office

(PHILADELPHIA) – DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary US LLP has announced that James M. Brogan, partner in the firm’s litigation practice, has been named managing partner of the firm’s Philadelphia office.
In his new role, Brogan will guide the office’s strategic growth and general management. He will also focus on efforts aimed at growing the firm’s client base and the continued expansion of the firm’s core practices in Philadelphia. He succeeds William F. Kiniry, Jr., who will continue to focus on global firm initiatives.
DLA Piper has 54 lawyers in Philadelphia who focus on, among other areas, litigation, intellectual property and corporate transactions.
“The expansion of DLA Piper’s platform and the growth of the Philadelphia office over the past year has enhanced our capacity to deliver increasingly sophisticated legal services to the firm’s clients, including some of the largest companies in the world,” said Brogan. “We recognize that everyone in our Philadelphia office plays an important role in helping clients succeed and I am excited about the opportunity to collaborate with everyone here.”
As office managing partner, Brogan will also support the efforts of lawyers who are involved in pro bono initiatives in the Philadelphia community, such as the firm’s partnering program with Leadership Learning Partners Charter School and the Lawyering Together program with Villanova Law School.
An experienced trial lawyer, Brogan has represented clients in commercial litigation, product liability and toxic tort claims, intellectual property disputes and environmental litigation. He was recently inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.
Brogan received an undergraduate degree at Indiana University and earned his law degree from Villanova University.
