Desmond qualified as an advocate and solicitor in Singapore and as a solicitor in England and Wales. His litigation and arbitration practice focuses mainly on the areas of building and construction as well as commercial disputes. His corporate practice focuses on corporate insolvency, mergers and acquisitions and public equity transactions. He has a distinguished domestic and international client base, of which about 50 clients are among the approximately 600 companies currently listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange. Desmond joined the organisation as Office Managing Partner, Singapore, after having been managing partner of J Koh & Co since 1999. Under his leadership, J Koh & Co grew from a seven-man practice to a reputable medium-sized firm of 25 lawyers. Desmond has been a member of the Group Management Committee since 2000. He is fluent in English, Mandarin, Malay and Hokkien.
