Oleksandr is a partner in the Kyiv office. He leads the Finance and Projects practice in Ukraine, having over 12 year's experience of advising on legal, tax and business matters.

Oleksandr focuses on corporate law and banking law. He advises on the structuring of mergers and acquisitions in the finance sector, debt finance, currency derivatives, refinancing, securitisation, project finance, infrastructure and PPP's.  He also has significant industry experience in the energy, transport and telecommunications sectors.

He has provided legal support in a number of deals in the banking and insurance sectors, including one of the largest gas deals in the market. He has consulted and advised on project finance in the transport sector and represented banks in real and asset finance, as well as derivatives transactions.

Oleksandr graduated from Lviv National University in 1996 with a Masters in International Private Law. Currently, he is studying for an LLM in Banking and Finance Law from the University of London. He is a certified attorney at law and has been a member of the Kyiv Bar since 2000. In addition to his native Ukrainian, Oleksandr is fluent in English, Russian and has knowledge of Polish.

• Advising the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank in USD20m secured financing of OJSC "Concern Galnaftogaz";
• Advising on the GML International Limited (UK) investment fund in granting a secured loan to a Ukrainian bank;
• Advising the OJSC "Concern Galnaftogas" in USD50m issue and private placement of unsecured mandatorily convertible notes;
• Advising EBRD in USD80m refinancing of ISTIL, a Ukrainian steel mill;
• Advising on the USD109.7m IPO of AISI Realty Plc, a real estate investment company, at the Alternative Investment Market of the London Stock Exchange;
• Advising the selling shareholders of the sixth largest P&C insurance company of Ukraine, Vesko, in selling more then 90% of their shares to the French insurance company, AXA SA and UkrSibBank, a Ukrainian subsidiary of BNP Paribas;
• Advising Gasprom, the Russian gas monopoly in the setting up of a joint venture with a Ukrainian major oil and gas company, including representation before the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine and negotiating long-term gas supply contracts.  Also, representing the company in the deal on structuring of settlement of indebtedness of Ukrgasenergo LLC to Rosukenergo AG (USD729m);
• Advising Bank Austria Creditanstalt as a legal counsel on matters of Austrian and Ukrainian law for the provision of cross-border financing for the contruction and maintenance of commercial real estate in Ukraine;
• Advising Raiffeisen Zentralbank Oesterreich AG on the provision of secured multimillion Euro loan facilities to a Ukrainian car retailer;
• Advising Bank OTP Bank Plc on cross-border financing of commercial real estate in Ukraine
• Advising Investkredit Bank AG on secured financing of real estate;
• Advising UPEC Industrial Group in selling 97.25% of shares of the Ukrainian bank "Factorial" to the Swedish financial group SEB (USD120m)
• Acting as Ukrainian law counsel of Landkom International Plc, a Ukrainian producer of rapeseed oil, on its pre-IPO restructuring and private placement and its GBP54m IPO at the Alternative Investment  Market of the London Stock Exchange;
• Provising legal support of Eurobonds issued by one of the Ukrainian telecom operators;
• Providing legal support for the acquisition of the production plant in Western Ukraine by Italian Manufacturing Group;
• Advising a Russian investment group in the acquisition of a Ukrainian cement plant;
• Advising a Russian bank on the acquisition of property in Ukraine and regulatory issues;
• Providing turn-key legal support for the process of setting up a business presence of the Turkish corporate and retail bank in Ukraine;
• Advising an Italian bank in the merger of two Ukrainian retail banks due to the acquisition by Italian bank of stakes in their shareholders globally;
• Providing legal advice to a UK bank on securitisation of home and car loan portfolios of a Ukrainian bank;
• Advising Ukrainian Air Carrier in obtaining multimillion Euro financing from a foreign lender via private placement of the loan participation notes;
