Jasna Zwitter-Tehovnik is a member of the Vienna-based Finance & Projects team. With more than 10 years’ experience Jasna specialises in debt capital markets and structured finance, acquisition and real estate financings. She also has particular expertise in advising on the restructuring of loans, as well as the legal and regulatory aspects of derivative transactions under both Austrian and CEE/SEE laws.
She is the author of the recently published book "Der notleidende Kredit" (The distressed loan, Verlag Österreich, 2009) and has written numerous articles on finance law. They include: "Cross-Border Electricity Trade and Related Finance in Central Europe – a Legal Perspective" (together with Eva Skottke and Andras Kauten) (Columbia Journal of Eastern European Law, 11 J.E. EUR L. 69-92 (2004), "The financial collateral directive and its implementation in Austria" (together with Stefan Eder in ÖBA 5, 2003), "Asset allocation and state succession in the Former Yugoslavia" (together with Thomas Podlesak, eastlex 2005, 2), The new Assignment Act – a kick-off for securitisations in Austria (ecolex 2005, 678).
Jasna was educated at the Lycée N-D de Kerbertrand, Quimperlé, France (Baccalauréat with distinction, 1993), at the Université de Rennes 1, France and at the University of Salzburg, Austria (Master's Degree, 1996; Doctorate, 1997). She also pursued postgraduate studies at the New York University School of Law, New York, USA (LL.M. Degree, 1999). Jasna speaks German, Slovene, English and French. She is admitted to the Austrian Bar, to the New York Bar and to the Slovene Bar.
