Jason Harmon practices in the area of corporate and securities law, including public and private equity and debt offerings, mergers and acquisitions, securities compliance and other corporate matters. His practice emphasizes high technology and emerging growth companies, including Internet, communications and biotech companies, and real estate investment trusts.
Mr. Harmon's mergers and acquisition experience includes serving as buyer's counsel in several transactions, including counsel to Green Courte Partners in the acquisition of American Land Lease, Inc. in March 2009 and Inland American in the acquisition of Winston Hotels in July 2007. His seller's counsel experience includes the representation of Applied Signal Technology in its acquisition by Raytheon and Argon ST in its acquisition by Boeing in August 2010 and Laureate Education in its sale to a KKR-led consortium in August 2007. Mr. Harmon has been responsible for public company acquisitions having a combined value of more than $6 billion.
In his equity offering and debt offering experience, Mr. Harmon has been both company counsel and banker's counsel. He has been responsible for more than 35 public securities transactions raising proceeds of more than $9 billion.
The respected English publisher Chambers & Partners names Mr. Harmon in Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business. It has called him a "well regarded" lawyer who is viewed as "an expert in corporate and securities law," "focused and results-driven" and acclaimed for "anticipating and spotting issues," and it notes, "Sources say he is 'exceptionally smart, very thorough and extremely easy to work with.'" Mr. Harmon is also recognized in Legal 500.
