Kit specialises in the areas of outsourcing and complex technology transactions, advising both users and suppliers of IT, and outsourcing services and in relation to all aspects of the procurement process. His work ordinarily involves him on business critical projects frequently valued in the hundreds of millions of pounds. Major clients include UBS, Dixons, TUI, Royal Bank of Scotland, Lloyds Banking Group, CMC Markets, HCL Technologies, the British Council.

He is identified as a leading IT and outsourcing lawyer by all of the leading legal directories, including the Legal 500, Legal Experts and Chambers. The most recent edition of Chambers describes him as "a brilliant IT lawyer" with "a grand reputation".

Kit is a past Trustee and current Fellow of the Society of Computers and Law and chairs its Outsourcing Group. He is also a member of the Computer Law Group. A frequent speaker at industry and legal conferences, Kit also writes for various journals on IT and outsourcing including IT Law Today, Computers and Law, and the Computer Law and Security Review, for which he is on the correspondent's panel.

He is the author of two leading publications, on Computer Contracts (Sweet and Maxwell) and the Legal Protection of Computer Software (EMIS).

  • Advising TUI in respect of its global networks and unified comms outsourcing and transformation project.
  • Advising the British Council in relation to both the outsourcing of its desktop IT and services and its global connectivity/telephony functions.
  • Advising various bidding consortia in relation to a number of the UK's largest public sector IT projects, including in relation to the Ministry of Defence, the Home Office, the Department of Health, the Criminal Records Bureau, the Department of Work and Pensions and the Metropolitan Police.
  • Advising Fujitsu Services on a number of major IT and network implementation projects.
  • Advising DSG International in relation to the world's largest ever IT infrastructure management outsourcing to an India-based supplier.
  • Advising one of the world's largest internet services and content providers in respect of its strategic purchasing arrangements with a number of key vendors.
  • Advising one of the UK's leading rail franchises in connection with its implementation of a new ERP solution as part of its franchise commitment.
  • Advising a world renowned financial institution on its development of a new derivatives and financial instruments trading system.
  • Advising the world's leading travel and tourism group, TUI AG, in connection with a number of offshore outsourcing initiatives.
  • Advising UBS AG on a wide range of IT implementation and outsourcing projects.
  • Advising one of the world's "Big 4" accounting and consulting firms on a wide range of IT and outsourcing projects throughout EMEA.
  • Advising DSG International in respect of the £240m outsourcing of its contact centre functions to Capita.
  • Advising one of the leading bodies at Lloyd's in connection with the development and implementation of new underwriting systems.
  • Advising PwC in connection with the implementation of a new CRM system for Telekom Polska, CEE's largest ever Peoplesoft implementation.
  • Advising one of the world's largest logistics companies in connection with its IT, e-commerce and 4GL logistics outsourcing operations, including a public sector project valued in excess of £2bn.
  • Advising H3G (trading as "3") in relation to the set up of its 3G telephony networks and supporting IT infrastructure.
