Lisa A. Haile concentrates on patent protection with special technical experience in molecular biology, immunology, plant biotechnology, including transgenic plants, cell biology, diagnostics, therapeutics, theranostics, virology, drug delivery systems, host-vector systems, high throughput screening, and bioinformatics. Particular experience with patentability, non-infringement, and validity opinions, licensing strategies, FDA counseling, due diligence work in connection with venture capital, private, and public financing, mergers and acquisitions in the life sciences industry, and strategic counseling for comprehensive life sciences patent portfolio management.
Dr. Haile is a member of DLA Piper's firmwide Policy Committee.
Recent Matters Patentability, infringement, and validity determinations, IP due diligence, licensing, development of IP policies, and strategic counseling in the following areas: plants, antisense molecules, peptides, proteins, DNA, antibodies, vaccines, diagnostics, therapeutics, theranostics, RNAi, and bioinformatics.
Experience US and International patent preparation and prosecution relating to novel genetically altered organisms, including plants; antisense molecules; peptides; proteins; DNA; antibodies; vaccines; diagnostics; and therapeutics, as well as patentability, infringement and validity determinations, licensing and strategic counseling.
