Lisa Jones represents corporate, government and nonprofit clients before Congress and the Executive Branch and works closely with DLA Piper’s international attorneys and government affairs professionals on international public policy matters. She counsels clients on the development and implementation of comprehensive strategic plans to address specific needs or broader policy interests that require action by the federal government.
Ms. Jones has experience handling a diverse range of legislative, administrative and policy issues, including energy issues – particularly affecting independent marketers and refiners of petroleum products – energy and biodiesel taxes, judiciary and civil justice issues, defense and appropriations.
Ms. Jones also counsels corporations, associations and professional firms on federal laws governing lobbying and ethics, including the Lobbying Disclosure Act of 1995, the Honest Leadership and Open Government Act of 2007, the Foreign Agents Registration Act, and the congressional and Executive Branch gift and travel rules. She also provides guidance on state and local lobbying, ethics and campaign finance laws.
