Marnix Holtzer is head of the Employment, Pensions and Benefits group of DLA Piper in the Netherlands. He combines advice on employment and corporate law and is experienced in advising leading global companies on strategic employment matters.
Marnix has specific expertise in outsourcing and the EC Acquired Rights Directive on transfer of undertakings (‘TUPE’), on which he has published a book. Marnix also has specific expertise in the field of corporate litigation and is part of the DLA Piper corporate litigation team. He has assisted many clients in restructuring exercises and the employment aspects of mergers and acquisitions. As such, he has been involved in litigation in many high-profile corporate inquiry proceedings (enquêteprocedures).
Marnix is widely known for his expertise in works council litigation at the Enterprise Section of the Court of Appeals in Amsterdam (Ondernemingskamer), in which he has acted for and against European and local works councils.
Marnix is a member of the Supervisory Board of the St. Lucas Andreas Hospital, one of the largest teaching hospitals in the Netherlands. Furthermore, he is chairman of the Dutch Corporate Litigation Association.
