Partner
|
Megan Shea is a partner in DLA Piper's Litigation Group. She concentrates her commercial litigation practice on business litigation for public and private companies as well as the officers, directors and employees of those companies. She represents these clients in connection with corporate governance disputes, securities fraud allegations, contract interpretation disputes and other commercial disputes.
Ms. Shea's insurance and reinsurance practice includes litigation and counseling for the leading insurance companies in the United States, in directors and officers liability and professional liability coverage and in complex reinsurance disputes.
Ms. Shea litigates in state and federal courts across the country. Her experience includes trying cases in state courts and arbitrating before FINRA (formerly NASD).
Selected Recent Experience

Won complete defense verdict following seven week jury trial in New Jersey state court on behalf of a reinsurance intermediary against reinsurance pool member alleging breach of fiduciary duty and conspiracy.

Won complete plaintiff's verdict following one week bench trial in New York state court on behalf of preferred shareholders of corporation against directors and officers of the corporation alleging breach of fiduciary duty.

Representation of brokerage firm defending claims of misrepresentation, breach of fiduciary duty and securities violations.
