HFC Sponsorship
We gladly contribute to maintaining a strong, open and internationally competitive financial sector in the Netherlands, which is why we support the Holland Financial Centre (HFC) foundation.
Which parties support HFC?
The HFC foundation is a public-private joint venture between the financial sector, the government and regulators, which have united in a widely diverse group. Its members include banks, insurers, trading firms, pension funds, asset managers, the government and a number of law firms including DLA Piper.
What does the HFC do?
As a joint venture, the Holland Financial Centre develops initiatives that contribute to maintaining a strong, open and internationally competitive financial sector in the Netherlands. Its initiatives include gathering relevant information and making that information available, and bringing together parties that play or could play a role in the development of the sector.
Richard Fens, Managing Partner: "we gladly support the mission of the Holland Financial Centre which is aimed at maintaining a strong and internationally competitive financial sector in the Netherlands. As part of the largest legal services provider in the world, we are in an excellent position to contribute to the accomplishment of that mission."
Young HFC
HFC also has a 'Young HFC', a network organisation for and by young professionals who work in the Dutch financial sector. Young HFC currently has more than 150 members who work at a cross section of the members. Through Young HFC attorneys of DLA Piper share their knowledge during informal network meetings and events. The network organisation can be seen as the think tank of young financial professionals in the Netherlands.
Aston Goad, senior associate at DLA Piper, is DLA Piper's contact for Young HFC: "Young HFC considers it important that young professionals be involved in the financial sector from the very start of their careers. We wholly subscribe to this view and also contribute to it. Recently, for example, DLA Piper hosted a debate about the future of the pension industry and a panel discussion was organised whose members included former minister Ronald Plasterk. It is exciting to be part of the organisation and to think of events at which our colleagues can make their contribution to Young HFC."
