Aldrich

|
Nika Aldrich is a litigator whose practice covers the spectrum of matters including intellectual property as well as commercial law, international law and bankruptcy. Among Mr. Aldrich's clients are corporate patent owners in a variety of fields as well as parties disputing copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property issues. His experience includes both trial work and appellate work.
Before joining DLA Piper, Mr. Aldrich worked at the World Intellectual Property Organization's offices at the United Nations, where he attended Security Council and General Assembly meetings, studied the effects of global intellectual property regimes on developing nations and wrote about the intersection of the United Nations Millennium Goals with international intellectual property systems.
Since joining DLA Piper, Mr. Aldrich has continued to practice in the intellectual property and developing nations spaces, representing entities in developing nations in Eastern Europe and Southeast Asia with respect to litigations against US-based corporations. Mr. Aldrich has devoted considerable pro bono time and effort to supporting progress in developing nations, including research on gender issues for the World Bank. Most recently, he spent more than 300 hours working on a pro bono project in Namibia, including teaching litigation practices at the University of Namibia law school.
Before becoming a lawyer, Mr. Aldrich served as a technology consultant in the recording industry for several years and has an extensive background in the digital sciences, including digital signal processing and other areas of technology closely associated with the recording arts. He is the author of a college textbook on digital audio engineering, has written several papers in the field and has been cited in Forbes and other publications for his work in digital rights management.

representing a major pharmaceutical manufacture in a trademark and unfair competition suit against an importer of generic pharmaceuticals

representing a women's clothier in defending a trade secret dispute with respect to women's garment designs

representing a major accounting firm in a dispute with its former CEO regarding rights to indemnification and advancement of criminal defense costs, and

representing a foreign entity in a breach of fiduciary duties case against the former officers of its US subsidiary
