Ulf is a partner in Bergen office and leads the Tax and Corporate local practice group. This group focuses on company transactions and restructurings.

Ulf focuses on national and international tax matters, with a particular emphasis on global tax issues. He specialises in transfer pricing within multinationals and is respected among his peers in this field.

Ulf has specialist industry knowledge of the fishing, fish farming and shipping and offshore industries. He also specialises in international trade, focusing on the maritime industry in Norway. His main clients come from these or related industries.

He started his professional career as an economic consultant, then graduated from the University of Bergen with a law degree in 1989 and joined the Tax Inspectorate in Bergen. Ulf went on to work in two Global Accounting Firms (Andersen Legal, which merged with Ernst & Young) before joining us in April 2004 as a tax and corporate partner.

• acting in an important court case regarding tax treatment of fish quotas (2001)
• advising in a transfer pricing dispute in France, treated under the Mutual Agreement Procedure (2004)
• acting in a supreme court case regarding tax treatment of goodwill and fish farming quotas (concessions) (2005)
• advising on the sale of a shipping company (2005)
• advising a multinational enterprise on the sale of intangibles, considering the impact of the law in a number of jurisdictions (2006)
• advising on the sale and purchase of several companies owning fish quotas (concessions) (2005 and pending)
• advising companies in Europe, North America and Asia on a number of transfer pricing cases involving tax planning and preparing documentation reports
