DLA Piper announces record partnership promotions for 2008

DLA Piper is delighted to announce that 69 lawyers have been promoted to its partnership for 2008. Across Europe and Asia there are 41 newly elected partners, with a further 28 in the US. In addition to the new partners 29 lawyers at DLA Piper have been promoted to legal director and 145 to its associateship. The promotions, effective from 1 January 2008, were made across all key practice areas throughout DLA Piper's global network of 64 offices.
The London office had the largest increase of new partners, with 12 promotions across six practice areas. There were seven new partners promoted in Germany, and an additional six promotions in Manchester. DLA Piper's offices in Dubai and Brussels grew by three new partners each, and the remaining 11 promotions were made in Hong Kong, Leeds, Madrid, Milan, Oslo, Sheffield and Vienna.
Of the 28 promotions in the US, six were in Washington, DC, five in San Diego and Chicago, and four in East Palo Alto (Silicon Valley). The remaining eight promotions were in Austin, Baltimore, Los Angeles, New York and Tampa. 15 of the 28 new US partners are women - demonstrating the firm's commitment to working mothers, two of the new women partners were on maternity leave during the past year and a total of five have worked on a part-time or flex-time schedule in the past few years.
