Tejinder is a partner in our Hong Kong office and is qualified as a solicitor in England & Wales and in Hong Kong.

Tejinder has extensive experience of cross-border mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments and strategic joint ventures across the Asia-Pacific region, the United Kingdom and continental Europe. In addition, Tejinder has acted for a number of developers, asset managers and hotel and gaming companies in connection with significant hotel, gaming and residential developments and acquisitions in Macau.

Tejinder also advises banks and financial institutions on the financing of acquisitions and infrastructure projects and has significant experience of the international debt capital markets. Tejinder's practice includes advice on a wide variety of transactional commercial matters including agency, distribution, franchising, sponsorship, merchandising and manufacturing arrangements.

Key experience:
  • Advising China International Marine Containers (Group) Co Ltd. (CIMC), one of the largest container manufacturers in the world, on its €108 million acquisition of Netherlands-based Burg Industries BV, a fast-growing and leading supplier of road transport equipment and special static tanks.
  • Advising De'Longhi S.p.A. in connection with several joint ventures with Chinese partners for the manufacture of a variety of consumer durables in the PRC.
  • Advising an aviation services company in connection with two separate joint ventures in China and Malaysia for the conversion of the passenger/cargo configuration of certain Boeing aircraft.
  • Advising Sithe Asia Holdings (Hong Kong) and its shareholders in connection with significant Asia-based M&A matters. 
  • Advising Allergan, Inc. in the $750m spin-off of its optical medical device businesses in a tax-free dividend to stockholders.
  • Advising MoneyLine Network, Inc. in its purchase of Bridge Information Systems’ Telerate and Bridge Trading Room Services business in Asia.
  • Advising Park Place Entertainment in connection with its joint bid with Mandalay Resort Group for one of three casino concessions in Macau.
  • Advising a UK-based hotel group in connection with its acquisition of an 80% ownership interest in a 29-storey four-star hotel property and a 15% ownership interest in the hotel's casino facilities in Macau for an aggregate consideration of $155m.
  • Advising an international real estate developer and asset manager in connection with the acquisition of land in Macau (via the purchase of a Macau incorporated company) and the subsequent development of a $200m luxury high-end residential project.
  • Advising a consortium of Japanese investors in connection with the acquisition of land in Macau for US$140m and the subsequent development of a hotel and casino complex with a total construction area of 800,000 square feet.
  • Advising the underwriters of Prosperity REIT, JP Morgan and Merrill Lynch Far East Limited, for the purpose of conducting property and corporate due diligence in connection with the disposal of a portfolio of office buildings to a Hong Kong listed real estate investment trust, Prosperity REIT, which was the first private REIT listed on the Hong Kong stock exchange.
  • Advising both the renminbi and US dollar lenders, which included seven PRC and 12 international banks, on the project financing of the greenfield Nanhai Petrochemicals Complex in Guangdong Province, China. The project is one of the largest Sino-foreign developments in history and one of the largest private project financings ever done in Asia, with a total investment of $4.3bn.
