Olga Berson practices in the areas of life sciences, chemical and pharmaceutical litigation, including Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) litigation, patent infringement cases, inventorship disputes and Section 337 actions before the US International Trade Commission. A registered patent attorney, Dr. Berson has considerable experience in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications. She counsels clients on worldwide patent portfolio management, strategic development and licensing. Her experience also involves preparation of patentability, freedom to operate, patent validity and non-infringement opinions as well as due diligence work in connection with acquisition and licensing of patent portfolios.
Dr. Berson received her Ph.D. in environmental science and chemistry from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) for her study of bioremediation of an industrial solvent by stimulating growth of natural microbial populations. After graduation, she worked for three years as a senior scientist in a startup company. In all areas of her patent practice, Dr. Berson draws on her extensive technical training and research experience in a wide range of disciplines, including biology, chemistry, medicine, pharmacology and environmental science.
Dr. Berson has been recognized as a Rising Star for intellectual property and intellectual property litigation by Super Lawyers magazine (Southern California edition) in 2005 and 2008.
