Richard Fens has been in private practice for more than 20 years. He is an experienced corporate lawyer and is Partner within the Corporate group and Managing Partner of DLA Piper in the Netherlands. He acts for large corporations in national and cross-border transactions.

In the period between 1995 and 1999 Richard worked as offshore counsel of the Dutch international law firm Loeff Claeys Verbeke in Singapore focusing on infrastructure and project finance transactions and investments in Indonesia. Richard serves several large corporate clients such as Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC), BASF Nederland, KPN, ING Bank, Reed Business and private equity investors such as Parcom Capital and Bridgepoint on their national and international corporate-commercial work. Within DLA Piper Netherlands, Richard is also responsible for mergers and acquisitions (M&As), capital markets and private equity matters.

Richard is a member of the Corporate Governance Committee of the Netherlands Association of Private Equity Investors (NVP) and co-author of the private equity Handbook for Supervisory Directors (edition NVP).
