Shale D. Stiller is experienced in a broad range of business, tax and estate planning matters, and has also been chief counsel in major constitutional, commercial and divorce litigation.

Mr. Stiller is general counsel to one of the 15 largest private foundations in the country. He has been an adjunct professor at the University of Maryland School of Law for 47 years, having taught taxation, commercial law, constitutional law and federal jurisdiction. He has been an active member of the American Law Institute for over 38 years and is a fellow of the American College of Tax Counsel and the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel.

For the last 25 years, he has also been a trustee of the Johns Hopkins University and is also an active member of the board of trustees of The Johns Hopkins Hospital.

In 2011, the Maryland Legal Aid Bureau recognized him as a Champion of Human Rights and Justice. He was among 100 Marylanders who were honored during the Maryland Legal Aid Centennial Celebration for their work to advance human rights and justice. Also in 2011, Mr. Stiller was honored with the 2011 American Inns of Court Professionalism Award for the Fourth Circuit.

In January 2010, incoming Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake named Mr. Stiller to be among the four chairs of her mayoral transition team. In November 2010, the Bar Association of Baltimore City named him among "Baltimore's Living Legal Legends."

In 2011, the Baltimore Community Foundation welcomed him into the 2011 inaugural class of its Professional Advisor Recognition Society, honoring him for demonstrating a commitment to the community by working to advance philanthropy and encourage charitable giving across Baltimore.

Mr. Stiller has been recognized as the Best Lawyers' 2010 Baltimore Corporate Lawyer of the Year. In 2008, he was named a Maryland Super Lawyer.
