Simon is the Joint Global Head of the Intellectual Property and Technology practice group and EMEA Group Head and UK Regional Group Head of the Intellectual Property and Technology practice group.
He specialises in intellectual property and media law, advising on all aspects of copyright and related rights, advertising and sponsorship, design rights, trade mark rights, passing off, breach of confidence and patents. He has many years' experience of acting for well-known individuals, trusts and charities, and companies in many industries, in particular media, new media, sport and manufacturing.
Simon advises on both commercial and litigation matters. He has been involved in all aspects of litigation and arbitration and has experience in the High Court, the Copyright Tribunal, the Court of Appeal, the House of Lords and Privy Council, as well as the Trade Mark Registry. A number of these matters have been reported and have been the subject of media interest.
Simon sits on the intellectual property committees of the International Chamber of Commerce and City of London Law Society, the editorial board of PLC's IT & IP Law Service, and the contributors panel for the World Copyright Law Report. He gives seminars and lectures to groups and bodies worldwide on intellectual property and media law. He is recognised in UK and global directories as an expert in intellectual property and media law, and a leading practitioner in his field. Intellectual Asset Management (IAM) Magazine has also named Simon to its inaugural 'IAM 250 - A Guide to the World's Leading IP Strategists' 2009.
