In 1995, Ms. Taylor co-founded Endicor Medical, Inc., a privately funded corporation specializing in the development and manufacture of medical devices for use in cardiac and peripheral vascular surgery. While a partner in a law firm, she also served as general counsel to the company for several years, before its ownership and operation passed to ev3.
Ms. Taylor serves on the Medical Devices Committee of the Food and Drug Law Institute. Ms. Taylor is a member of the Licensing Executives Society, the Association of University Technology Managers, the International Trademark Association and the American Intellectual Property Law Association. In August 2009, she discussed the practical, legal and ethical implications of patents covering genes on "These Days," broadcast on the San Diego NPR affiliate KPBS. Ms. Taylor also participated in a follow-up forum, "Who Owns Your Genes?," at the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center.
