DLA Piper advises Stefanini in mid market Brazil – US acquisition

Press Release

DLA Piper announced today that it represented Stefanini International Holdings Ltd in the December 13 closing of its tender offer and follow-on merger with TechTeam Global. This US$93.4 million acquisition is a significant step in Stefanini IT Solutions' strategy of expanding its international presence.

With this acquisition, Stefanini will have a direct presence in 27 countries -- up from 16 today, creating a broader global presence. With the addition of TechTeam employees, the Stefanini IT Solutions Group will now have nearly 12,000 employees worldwide and annual revenues of $600 Million USD.

Stefanini's acquisition of TechTeam aligns with several major trends driving growth in outsourcing: globalization, flexible and comprehensive services, rightsourcing and the emergence of Brazil as an economic powerhouse.

Diane Frankle (Silicon Valley) led the deal team, assisted by Eric Deeds (San Francisco), Kristi Darnell-Weichelt (Seattle), Ted Altman (New York), Alicia Vivona (New York), Tom Hendershot (Northern Virginia), William Hoffman (Silicon Valley), Mark Boxer (San Francisco) and Amy Beckstead (Austin).
