Ella van Gool is the Silicon Valley Regional Manager of the Venture Pipeline group, a DLA Piper business unit specifically focused on enhancing the funding prospects of early stage ventures. The Venture Pipeline group is led by business professionals experienced in working in the technology sector and the capital markets who actively advise new ventures on strategic business issues that are critical to funding. Leveraging DLA Piper’s worldwide experience in the emerging growth and venture capital sectors, Ms van Gool will work directly with the firms Corporate and Securities practice, assisting entrepreneurs in preparing for, and accessing the local, national and global investment communities, matching business growth objectives and venture funding requirements with appropriately targeted funding sources.

Before joining DLA Piper, Ms. van Gool spent 4 1/2 years as Chief Representative for the Netherlands Business Support Office in San Mateo, CA. The NBSO is an Agency of the Dutch ministry of Economic Affairs. Ms. van Gool focused on providing Dutch emerging technology and life sciences ventures with specific advise on accelerating their ventures in Silicon Valley. Ms. van Gool has advised hundreds of firms on various parts of their business plans, including, management, personnel, funding, banking, immigration and partnership strategies. Ms. van Gool has been, and continues to be, active in the Silicon Valley networking, and international angels and venture capital communities.

Prior to working for the NBSO, Ms. van Gool worked at a retinal therapies and device biotech start-up, a professional technical consulting services organization and a Dutch Electronic Design Automation software company. It is for the latter that Ms. van Gool came to Silicon Valley, to start the US operations. Ms. van Gool has often spoken in The Netherlands on cultural business differences and has been interviewed and featured in the Dutch press. Ms. van Gool currently serves as an advisor to the Board of the Benelux Gaming Initiative and as board member of the Silicon Valley Business Exchange chapter of the Netherlands America Foundation.
