David is head of the Pensions and Incentives group in the UK. He has specialised in pensions law since 1990. He advises trustees and employers on all aspects of pensions law including scheme mergers, money purchase conversions and reviewing and updating scheme documentation. David advises them on the fulfilment of their duties, the exercise of their discretions and on pension scheme governance issues. He also advises extensively on investment related matters including the negotiation of complex investment contracts. David is a director of the organisation's independent trustee company (Fountain Trustee Limited) and a trustee of its occupational pension scheme. He is rated in Chambers and Legal 500 as an expert and leader in the field of pensions law and is a regular contributor to journals and the media on pensions related issues. He is a member of the Association of Pension Lawyers and is an Associate of the Pensions Management Institute. David is also chairman of the NAPF Liverpool group.
