Blake Jackson listens to and works directly with clients to develop and execute intellectual property (IP) strategies. He integrates with clients in order to align these strategies with the underlying business goals. By keeping perspective of the company big picture, he is able to ensure proper focus of IP..

Blake uses his extensive experience with patent prosecution to support a range of services. He not only develops patent programs for start-ups, he guides larger companies in their international patent filing and prosecution decisions. He works with clients on clearance matters as well as the technical patent side of both IPRs and patent litigations. Blake has evaluated patent portfolios for large international organizations, participated in successful multi-million dollar patent negotiations as well as taken the lead on the patents side of licensing, corporate diligence and acquisition projects.

Blake's intellectual property experience includes work in the technical fields of mechanical engineering, consumer products, computer software, optics, lasers, aeronautics, mobile networks, e-commerce, clean energy, cloud computing, social networking, and personal health devices. His experience with design patents and trade secrets as well as understanding trademark prosecution allows him to advise on a full range of corporate intellectual property concerns.

Pro Bono

Blake enjoys working on a variety of pro-bono projects, including patent prosecution and counseling for the Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities Program, and helping qualified inventors draft and prosecute patents through the USPTO patent hub’s Chicago-Kent program.

Blake has also spent time on a pro bono basis with the John Marshall Veteran's Legal Support Center and Clinic, assisting veterans with disability claims.

Military Experience

Before becoming an attorney, Blake served in the US Navy as both an electronic counter-measures officer, flying in EA-6B Prowler jet aircraft, and as a collegiate ROTC instructor and associate professor.
