He has represented multinational companies negotiating with government officials and other associated investigative agencies as well as mass media, conducting internal investigations and training, researching relevant regulations/guidelines, drafting internal codes and policies related to areas of Japanese law, including pharmaceutical, privacy, corporate, insurance, intellectual properties and labour. Takahiro has worked with multinational companies regarding U.S. antitrust law and FCPA, data privacy issues in EU and other jurisdictions, and cross-border disputes particularly related to tort claims and product liability in Japan and U.S. collaborating with counsel in each jurisdiction. He has also assisted Japanese companies expanding their businesses into China, India, Southeast Asia and other countries. Takahiro began his career as a judge, serving in district courts in Japan for almost ten years. He was seconded to a multinational auto company handling labour matters and training factory workers. He also held a two year diplomatic secondment role at the Embassy of Japan in Washington D.C. where he served as an advisor on issues relating to export controls, competition laws and FCPA enforcement affecting Japanese companies.
