Ali Al-Zarrad is a UK qualified dispute resolution and investigations lawyer. Ali focuses his practice on representing and advising multinationals in cross-border international arbitrations, litigation, and investigation and regulatory compliance matters.

Ali has experience of acting for clients from a range of industries and sectors, including healthcare and life sciences; construction; projects and energy; technology and telecommunications; banking and finance; and logistics. Ali is familiar with the regulatory frameworks of multiple jurisdictions, especially those of England and Wales, and the UAE.

  • Representing a Fortune 500 pharmaceutical and consumer health company in all aspects of an internal investigation across several MENA jurisdictions concerning allegations of corruption and bribery, including the provision of related regulatory advice
  • Successfully representing a Russian oil and gas company in a (USD multimillion) Dubai seated arbitration (DIAC Rules, English law) concerning an oil extraction project in Iraq
  • Conducting an internal investigation for a US bio-pharmaceutical company following whistle blowers alleging multiple corrupt practices
  • Acting for a U.S. aerospace and defence technology company to conduct a comprehensive risk-based anti-corruption due diligence and approval requirements programme in connection to the engagement of international third party suppliers
  • Acting for a prominent Dubai-based developer in relation to a US$ 500 million Dubai-seated construction arbitration under the UNCITRAL Rules (with parallel Dubai courts proceedings) relating to one of the biggest mixed residential and retail developments in the GCC
  • Representing an Indian real estate entrepreneur (defendant) in a GBP 350 million pipeline project investment dispute against allegations of fraudulent misrepresentation in parallel proceedings in the High Court of Justice of the Isle of Man and an LCIA arbitration seated in Singapore
