DLA Piper advises CamperBoys on minority investment by Helvetia Venture Fund

DLA Piper has advised CamperBoys GmbH on an investment by Helvetia Venture Fund during a financing round in which Helvetia acquired a minority stake in the company. The funding will contribute to the expansion into further cities and the development of the product portfolio of the camper rental business.

CamperBoys was founded in 2016 by Andreas Mall and Paul Pizzinini and today runs a fleet of 700 vehicles available at six locations throughout Germany. CamperBoys also offers its customers a personalized route planning service.

Helvetia Venture Fund is a subsidiary to Helvetia Schweizerische Versicherungsgesellschaft and invests in start-ups in the InsurTech sector and in young companies whose business models have a support function to Helvetia's insurance business.

The DLA Piper team was led by partner Simon Vogel and included associates Oliver Schmidt and Fiona Toni as well as senior foreign legal associate Aleksandra Lis-Rychlinska (all Corporate/Private Equity, Munich).
