
DLA Piper (Canada) LLP to host the 2023 Harold G. Fox Moot
DLA Piper (Canada) LLP is proud to once more participate as a platinum sponsor and event co-ordinator of The Harold G. Fox Moot on intellectual property law; for the first time, the moot will be hosted both on a virtual platform and in person.
For the seventh consecutive year, DLA Piper Canada will play a key role in sponsoring and organizing this event, which promotes the study of Canadian intellectual property law and allows law students to interact with jurists from Canada’s highest courts. The 2023 moot is chaired by DLA Piper Canada IP Partner Bentley Gaikis.
From 24-25 February, 10 Schools from across Canada will participate in the 2023 Harold G. Fox Moot. This year’s moot will feature judicial panellists from the Supreme Court of Canada, the Federal Court of Appeal, the Federal Court and the Superior Court of Justice for Ontario. The Right Honourable Lord Kitchin, Justice of the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom, will deliver the introductory Fox lecture: The developing law of patent interpretation and scope of protection.
The event is named in honour of leading intellectual property scholar and advocate, Harold G. Fox.
