Tom Ara, David Markman and Cory Bettel named to Variety's 2024 Legal Impact Report

DLA Piper is pleased to announce that Tom Ara, global co-chair of the firm’s Media, Sport and Entertainment sector and co-chair of the Entertainment Finance and Entertainment Transactions practices; David Markman, co-chair of the Entertainment Transactions practice; and associate Cory Bettel have been named to Variety’s 2024 Legal Impact Report highlighting the top attorneys in the entertainment business.

In its profile of Ara and Markman, who were recognized as a team in the report, Variety noted their role in “shaping the entertainment landscape” through their work on numerous significant transactions, including Markman’s representation of Victoria’s Secret & Co. in connection with the production and distribution of “Victoria’s Secret: The Tour ’23” documentary, and Ara’s representation of Annapurna Games in connection with its acquisition of video game development studio 24 Bit.

Bettel was named to the publication’s list of “Up Next” attorneys in the entertainment space. Variety highlighted his and Ara’s representation of TikTok in executing TikTok in the Mix, TikTok’s first global live music event.
