Filippo Grondona is a technology transactions lawyer with experience advising national and foreign businesses in the acquisition, development, adoption and commercialization of intellectual property assets and new technologies across multiple areas and sectors.

Filippo provides clients with full-service support in commercial transactions by drafting and negotiating complex IT-related agreements. He has helped large multinationals defining and implementing strategic outsourcing and IT innovation projects involving cloud-based, artificial intelligence and IoT technologies.

He has extensive experience with technology-focused arrangements, including software licensing, software development and software distribution agreements, cloud solution agreements (IaaS, PaaS and SaaS), end-user license agreements, platforms terms of use, website and mobile application development contracts and other commercial arrangements such as sales, partnership, services, supply and distribution agreements.

  • Assisted a large financial institution in drafting and negotiating an outsourcing agreement for the deployment of a cloud-based artificial intelligence platform performing activities such as trading, portfolio management and risk reporting, investments, wealth management, analytics for private portfolios, data collection, monitoring and investment benchmarking.
  • Assisted a multinational insurance company on a complex restructuring project to improve the group's technology and IT performances. Advised on IT, outsourcing and regulatory aspects of the deal, including notification requirements to Italian and foreign authorities, the applicability of Golden Power and designation of innovative solutions to guarantee continuous technology updates from the service provider.
  • Assisted a large freight transportation company in a complex warehousing, logistics and distribution outsourcing transaction, taking part in the preparation and negotiation of the services agreement envisaging also the transformation and digitization of all logistic, warehousing, and distribution operations.
