Nancy is an intellectual property trial attorney and registered patent attorney. She represents leading companies in a wide array of patent infringement matters and disputes.

Nancy also has experience advising clients on prosecution strategies for life science technologies, including antibody technologies, pharmaceuticals, biologics, CRISPR/Cas technologies, therapeutic and active agent delivery systems, and medical devices, among others. Her experience further encompasses counseling clients on patent licensing and procurement.

Before joining DLA Piper LLP, Nancy worked extensively as an IP journalist at the largest online intellectual property publication in the world, IPWatchdog, Inc.

Nancy is a former Alaska commercial fisherman.

Civic and Charitable

Nancy is Co-Chair of the Boston Intellectual Property Law Association (BIPLA) International and Foreign Practice Committee. The Committee focuses on keeping the Association current on substantive changes in foreign national and international law in all areas of IP practice, and coordinates with foreign practitioners and officials from foreign patent authorities to present programs of interest to the membership.

 

Nancy is also the Vice Chair of the Boston Chapter of Young Women In Bio, an organization that partners with leading companies, universities, hospitals, and other organizations to host highly engaging, educational, and motivational programs for young women in STEM. 

Nancy is a former performer with Voices of Hope Boston, a nonprofit musical theatre group that fundraises for cancer research at the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center.
